Desirée Leverenz

is a director, creator and performer living in Tkaronto and hails from Treaty 6.  Desirée is a graduate from the MFA program at York University and the BA Drama Honours program at the University of Alberta.  Desirée is the creator and Artistic Director of The Orange Girls, an experimental performance ensemble blurring the lines between performance art and theatre. Desirée’s creative hands are currently deep in the pockets of capitalism and gender studies searching for answers to questions about how to navigate this, currently very dangerous, patriarchal late-capitalist world and how to decolonize ourselves, and our art under the reign of white supremacy.
